LGB Governor Application
We are grateful for the time and expertise that our governors in our Local Governing Boards provide to our schools through strategic leadership.
They play a particular key role in overseeing the efficient use of finance and resources, the outcomes of pupils and the overall education experience, as well as supporting the community and/or maintaining the Christian distinctiveness if they are in a CofE academy.
We are particularly supportive of application from diverse backgrounds.
Please do talk to either your academy's Chair of Governors or the Headteacher about what you might be able to offer.
The form should be completed for all types of governor application for appointments:
- Parent governors (following Parent Election process)
- Staff governors (following Staff Election process)
- Community governors (where these are not parent, staff, foundation or trust nominated)
- Foundation governors (following nomination by PCC or Incumbent)
- Trust governors (following request for application by Trust CEO/Exec team)
Please note ALL applications are subject to Director Board approval.

PCC/Local (Church) Leadership Team Nomination
The role of foundation governors is crucial to sustaining and developing the Christian distinctiveness of our church academies.
We much appreciate the consideration and effort placed in identifying, encouraging and supporting governor nominations. Where possible we encourage these nominations to not only have an active role in the life of the church but also are able to report into PCCs the work they and the school undertakes.
